Wile E. Coyote is in ancient Egyptian garb while studying a Road Runner trap design on the wall, presumably inside a pyramid. Too late, Wile E. realizes his torch burned through a rope and the trap is sprung, and an anvil is falling toward him.
A new trap in the shape of a pyramid is Wile E.'s latest Acme, or Ahkme, acquisition. The idea is simple, the bird runs into the pyramid and falls into a chamber that he can't climb out of. As the coyote is trying to complete the pyramid's peak, Road Runner runs inside the structure. Racing in after the bird, the coyote slams into the blackened wall that was an opening for the bird.
The chase is on a moment later, with Road Runner seemingly about to fall into the trap. Wile E. stops in time not to fall in himself, only to be startled by the Road Runner behind, and fall in anyway. Exiting is no safer as the tip of the pyramid, which was not quite in place, falls down just in time to clobber the coyote.
A revised plan involves the free bird seed standby and a catapult to complete the pyramid and also squash the bird. Wile E.'s carelessness about rope sends him flying along with the pyramid peak, which lands on him rather than Road Runner.
Emerging from the ground expecting to be at the Cannes Film Festival, Bugs mistakes a cow for a festival judge, at least until the cow moos and he decides the cow sounds too smart to be a festival judge. Bugs didn't make it to France, but wound up in the Ozarks where Curt and Pumpkinhead Martin fight over him. They both want a rabbit fur to present to the girls they hope to marry. The alternative is a bath and the Martins claim they'd prefer death over bathing.
Bugs informs them that girls don't like fur as they're against harming of animals. The rabbit then makes an appearance just such a girl and forcefully bring the point home. Instead, flowers are suggested. Curt and Pumpkinhead have their own unique take on giving someone flowers. Their ideas, however, are not appreciated and they get clobbered by a piano tossed out a window. Reasoning that anyone who tosses pianos on people wouldn't be too concerned about the source of fur, they start after Bugs again since the other choice is a bath.
The rabbit suggests a serenade instead. Upon hearing about the Martin's singing, he arranges to do the singing himself while the Martins lip-synch. With Curt and Pumpkinhead putting on a show, Bugs sings a tune that's less than flattering about them. This time they get clobbered by a thrown tractor. Since the serenade was a flop, the Martins again look to get Bugs' fur as a bath is out of the question.
Bugs claims that the Martins might win the girls' affection by showing that can dance. A moment later and Bugs has a fiddle and is calling the dance with some unusual and unpleasant calls. The last call has them annoying a mule and the irked animal kicks them both well into the air. The girls see the Martins flying and decide to marry them. Bugs provides his services as officiant of the marriage ceremony. The ceremony is brief and the honeymoon nonexistent. Their wives give Curt and Pumpkinhead a list of chores, saying that when those are done then they'll both have to take a bath.
As the movie Invaders From Mars starts on his television, Bugs Bunny comments to himself that it's so much nonsense that some action films are more believable. Rather than popcorn, Bugs plans to snack on a carrot. He gets quite a surprise when he plucks a carrot down from a field and gets not just the carrot, but also Marvin. The angry Martian explains that he's on a mission to acquire carrotonium, the substance that powers everything on Mars. That wouldn't be a problem, but Martians don't share and he claims all the carrots on Earth for Mars. Naturally, Bugs has other ideas.
Marvin direct K-9 to start harvesting carrots. The rabbit claims the one they're about to pick aren't full strength and points to a doghouse, saying the high power carrots are grown in such structures. Marvin winds up zapping an angry dog. The Martian seems about to zap Bugs as well when the rabbit tells him he has animal competition, though the creature is not animal but machine: a front end loader. K-9 is directed to bring the creature to Marvin and, seeing it for what it is, is soon at the controls. When Marvin asks for the carrots it carries, he gets them dumped on him.
Somehow, the Martians manage to tie up Bugs. While K-9 loads the saucer with carrots, the rabbit quips that what they have is really only for low power devices. An instant later, the rope is zapped away and Bugs really hams it up like a sleazy car salesman. The rabbit shows K-9 and Marvin to a giant carrot-like vehicle, suggesting a test drive. Once the Martians are in, Bugs lights a fuse and the carrot-rocket launches. It comes to a crash landing in the land of Giants where Marvin ponders that perhaps a different vegetable might be a better fuel.
