A suddenly worried Wile E. Coyote holds a few sticks of TNT, seemingly about to place them. He has good reason to worry, as Road Runner has just perched on the connected plunger's handle and announced his presence with a "BEEP BEEP!"
The two wires should be going to the same place, which would have the detonating charge. As it is, each wire seems to go to a different stick of TNT, which would make detonation rather less than certain. Also, one of the rules Jones and Maltese laid out for Road Runner and Coyote cartoons was that the Road Runner should never directly be the cause of the Coyote's troubles. They, however, broke this rule themselves at times.
Wile E. Coyote naps near a set of traps he's set up, only to be startled by Road Runner and end up tripping them himself. As he tends to his wounds, he gets an idea. The coyote uses bandage material to make a crude web across the road. Alas, he gets caught in his own web just a truck comes along.
An Acme satellite beacon and arm cast are part of the coyote's next try. Just as he gets a satellite laser locked onto Road Runner, the bird appears right behind him, only to zip away just before the laser strikes the area. That area includes Wile E,'s foot and so he now uses a wheelchair. That gives him another idea.
Wile E. chases Road Runner with what can only be described as a Monster Wheelchair. He gets close, but runs into a problem - a tunnel shorter than his mode of travel. The resulting crash leaves the coyote so bad off he need an iron lung. Being Wile E. Coyote, it is an Acme Jet-Powered Iron Lung. Unfortunately for the hapless coyote, the web he'd set up earlier is still in place and in his way. The crash resulting from a slingshot effect shows us that the bandaging was not made by Acme, but rather by the Road Runner Tape Co.
Porky's editor insists on a better article than what the pig has, so Porky spends time at a house in the country so he won't be disturbed as he works. Just as he's gets started, a great wind shakes the house. It turns out to be from neighbor Sam's leaf-blower. Fortunately, Sam will be done in an hour.
Things quiet down when the hour has passed, but they don't stay quiet. Sam is done with the leaves, and is now using a chain-saw on some logs. A quick search the desk and Porky finds relief, he hopes, in the form of earmuffs. The hope doesn't last as now Sam has construction equipment working on his house. Porky nearly blows his top and the stress make him ill.
At last all the construction is finished and Porky can concentrate on his work. Until Sam's party starts, that is. Porky calls the police, but when they arrive they just join the party. The party turns out to be too much for Sam's house and it collapses. Porky is again planning on peace and quiet, but Sam is already making more noise as he starts rebuilding.
Bugs skates at the north pole when there's a sudden sploosh of water instead of ice. Marvin Martian has plans to melt the polar ice caps and flood the earth to make the ideal place to grow marsnolia flowers. A marsnolia covered earth would be more pleasing to view from Marvin's summer cottage. Bugs acts interested, asking questions about the ice melting device and switching it on when aimed straight down so it burrows into the ice.
Marvin is not deterred, as he has a pocket sized version he can use to retrieve the larger device. First, though, he intends to make sure Bugs can't interfere again. Bugs bolts, and reappears as Santa Claus. Marvin knows of Santa and so he and K-9 help the fake Claus with unloading his sack, which happens to be the marsnolia seeds. An exploding gift adds injury to insult, and the chase is on again.
Bugs runs over an icy river and tricks Marvin and K-9 over a waterfall. After that the pair are tricked again, this time into a geyser just before it erupts. When the pair recovers, they seem to have Bugs trapped, at the very top the pole marking the north pole. Just as Marvin is about to get his way, he is stopped by the real Santa's elves who don't like all the noise or the melting. Not only do the elves stop him, they take him away to be used as a model for new toys.
