In an old run down house a very worried Sylvester clings to Porky Pig's head. Porky, oblivious to the dangers behind him, reprimands Sylvester with "G-g-gosh, Sylvester don't be such a chi... a chi... a chick... a scaredy cat." The dangers include a hole being cut in the floor under Porky, a cleaver and three arrows that have narrowly missed him, and a shadow reveals a dagger about to be thrust down on the pair. Porky also fails to notice that someone is watching him through the cut out eye holes in a portrait.
The Jones cartoon Scaredy Cat is being referred to, with Porky being in his nightcap as he appeared in that cartoon. (EC)
Porky Pig is working for Acme TV and Satellite installing satellite receivers, a job that lets him bring Sylvester along. After driving all afternoon Porky arrives at an old run down house. The looks of the place scare Sylvester, who clings to Porky trying to keep him from going into the place. Porky leaves the cat in the van while he gets to work.
Upon entering the house Porky finds the lights don't work and so sets off to get power restored. Meanwhile Sylvester imagines the worst and overcomes his own fears just enough to enter the house so he can save Porky. Unseen, but not unknown, characters comment that something must be done about the pig and the cat. Sylvester manages to annoy and save Porky, who eventually gets the lights working again, pushing him out of the way of a falling piece of furniture only to get clobbered himself.
With the lights working and Sylvester patched up, Porky sets out again to install the satellite dish, momentarily distracted by the cat's attack at eyes watching though a crack in a wall. As Porky installs the dish, Sylvester follows a wire from the television and finds it is plugged in in a manner that would not be approved. Again he saves Porky, and this time he gets zapped for his efforts. Porky checks the work order to see if Acme will cover the damage done by the cat and finds they're at the wrong address.
A very angry Sylvester takes matters into his own paws and after stunning Porky, carries him to the van and drives off in quite a rush. Meanwhile we see that the mice, Hubie and Bertie, were the ones trying to do in Porky and Sylvester who they had thought were exterminators.
As Bugs relaxes in front of the television, Rocky and Mugsy are on the run from the law. Rocky has had it with Mugsy's bungling and kicks him out of the car...and he falls though a hole, landing right in front of Bugs' TV. After some misunderstanding about names, Bugs loses his cool and yells at Mugsy. Mugsy, who always got yelled at by Rocky, takes it as a kindness. The rabbit tells Mugsy to just be gone in morning and tries to sleep.
In the morning Bugs gets his hopes up that the gangster has left, only to find that he has invited others in to play roulette in the kitchen. The rabbit tells Mugsy, again, to leave and steps out for a while, hoping to return to a Mugsy-free home.
While this is going on, Rocky is trying to collect protection money. Unfortunately for him, he lacks Mugsy's protection and gets clobbered. He wants Mugsy back.
Returning, Bugs finds Mugsy still hasn't left and has broken his Oscar. As he's about to throttle Mugsy, Rocky shows up to claim him. Bugs has no objection, unfortunately Mugsy objects, wanting to stay with the rabbit, or at least get better compensation from Rocky. Bugs flees from Rocky's gunfire.
Returning, this time as a Mobster's Union mediator, Bugs fast talks the mobsters and blows them up, and finally out of his home. Later Bugs tries to relax in front of the television again, but smashes it in disgust as the choice of programming doesn't appeal to him.
