Inside the cockpit of a large aircraft, the copilot tells the pilot, "Chuck, hit the wipers." as a distraught Daffy has been hit and is pressed up against the windsheild saying, "This is what I get for migrating."
The instrument panel is amiss. Rather than a single set of gauges between the pilot and co-pilot, each person has a full set of gauges directly in front of him.
Daffy Duck is on stage before the curtain explaining that a great Shakespearean tragedy is about to be performed. When he announces the title of the play, MacBeth, Foghorn Leghorn appears on stage to tell the duck that he shouldn't say that name as doing so is bad luck. Daffy says the name again and Foghorn gets hit by lightning. The duck says the name a couple more times and dismisses the raining anvils as normal weather in Los Angeles.
Foghorn gets out a counter to the curse, his lucky horseshoe. Daffy snatches the shoe from the rooster and throws it away before defiantly yelling the title again. This time the duck finds himself in the shadow of a large anvil, and after a terrific crash, under the collapsed curtain and some fallen lighting gear. Daffy assures the audience that they will still be able to see his performance, though now he is careful to avoid saying the name of the play.
MacDaffy MacDuck and MacPorky MacPig are out playing golf when a ball ricochets off of a tree, hits Witch Hazel, and splashes into her cauldron. MacDaffy samples the brew before being told it's laundry. Hazel explains that she is not a cook but a soothsayer and tells the duck he will become Thane of Cawdor, but only if he disposes of the current Thane and the next two people in line for the position. Daffy is not interested as not only does he not know what a Thane is, but even worse, committing murder would require him to do work.
MacDuck has his mind changed for him when he tells his wife about the prediction. She insists he do whatever is needed to gain the position as they could use the additional money that comes with it. The duck first tries to lure the three in front of him -- Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Legorn, and Elmer Fudd -- into the crocodile-filled moat. Instead, he ends up there himself.
MacDuck has more schemes, such as exploding golf balls and spring-loaded spikes. These both backfire on him. Schemes involving a man-eating plant, electric eels, trapdoors, and even a whale also fail painfully. MacDuck finally succeeds by luring the trio into a tower with a promise of free haggis ala mode. The tower is launched by a giant spring and blown up as hits the ground.
MacPorky is surprised to find that MacDaffy really doesn't know what the Thane does. The Thane feeds the moat crocodiles. The crocodiles would rather feed on the duck. Shakespeare appears and explains that that is what Daffy gets for messing up his play.
At the Olympics, Tweety competes for the U.S.A. while team mascot Sylvester schemes to make a meal of the bird. Everyone is surprised when Tweety's discus is passed by another, Sylvester setting a new record in his failed quest for breakfast. Sylvester is carried and cheered for winning the gold medal, but he doesn't get fed. The cat tries again and by accident wins a swimming competition while failing to catch Tweety. Sylvester also wins the gold in a very improbable bit of gymnastics.
Due to Sylvester's spectacular failures at getting Tweety, the U.S.A. leads with gold medals in almost every sport, even a three-legged race and tiddly winks. Being outdone by a mere mascot causes some resentment in players from other nations. Even Tweety would like to have a chance without the cat winning. The bird looks forward to a cat-free game of ice hockey, but Sylvester follows him onto the ice. A brawl erupts as all the players from other countries gang up on the cat. In the end, Sylvester does get a meal of sorts. He's left with a mouth crammed full of hockey sticks.
Bugs is about to go to sleep when a primitive Elmer Fudd, dressed in typical cartoon caveman style, falls onto him. Fudd fell into the hole as it is too dark to see anything in a stormy night. Bugs suggests he climb a tree to get a better view. Fudd does get more light, but it's from the lightning that strikes him.
The rabbit again tries to get to sleep, only to be bounced up from bed by loud noise. It seems that the lightning strike suggested fire, and with that Fudd and his friends can stay up late. Bugs plans to end the party by rolling a carved rock through things. Again he tries to sleep, and again he is woken up. This time there is much cart traffic and many buildings, all inspired by the wheel that Bugs had rolled earlier.
Frustrated, Bugs puts up a sign saying to keep out of the area. He still doesn't get any sleep as the new invention of writing results in plays being performed and these keep the rabbit awake. Now quite angry, Bugs blows the place up. This only results in Fudd applying gunpowder for his purposes. When Bugs steamrolls the place, Fudd adapts the steam engine to industry.
Bugs tries yet again to get some peace, this time sending a humanoid robot to take care of things. Instead of what the rabbit hoped for, a futuristic society springs up as the result of intelligent machines. Fudd is surprised at how frustrated Bugs is, as all the royalties on his inventions are quite a large sum. Bugs gets very interested in this and starts collecting his money. With it, he buys the area surrounding his hole and secures it so he can finally have things on his terms.
