Road Runner, tongue out, watches from a cliff as Wile E. Coyote discovers he is no longer on the cliff and is falling. Or rather, his body is falling and his neck is stretched down off of the cover with his head still unmoving but showing the expression of sad realization of his situation.
Another day of chasing Road Runner has Wile E. trying to be an arrow launched by a bow. Alas, the coyote didn't check his trajectory and his flight ends in a collision with a road sign and a fall off of a cliff. The next attempt has free birdseed stopping Road Runner while a wrecking ball swings. The wrecking ball misses the bird, but hits the coyote.
Trying again, Wile E. sets up a railroad crossing... and gets run over by a train. Undeterred, Wile E. combines a high wire and an anvil that makes the wire sag. He gets very close to Road Runner, again stopped by free birdseed, but when feathers tickle his nose he drops the anvil beside the bird and is launched by the suddenly unweighted wire. Springy shoes ultimately prove no more useful than anything else the coyote has tried.
Yet another offering of free birdseed feeds Road Runner, but Wile E. Coyote's magnet doesn't get him a ball bearing stuffed bird as planned, but an airplane crashing down on him. Finally the coyote disguises himself as a sign and corners Road Runner on a ledge. Wile E. rapidly saws the ledge from the rest of the cliff. And as is Wile E.'s luck, the ledge become a floating island of rock and the cliff falls from under him. Road Runner may be safe from Wile E. Coyote but he has a different problem now: how does he get down?
Bugs Bunny wakes and finds darkness when there should be light, and then finds he's been sealed in his hole. He cuts his way out and emerges into the ordering area of a fast food place. The rabbit's demands to move the establishment are ignored by an dimwitted employee. A more forceful demand get Bug introduced to the clown, Fatty McArtery.
Bugs confronts him, western style, only to get booted out. Now, he's really out to cause trouble and poses as food critic. He places an order and asks for much to be held back, then sends customers fleeing as he 'reads' out loud, very loud, a warning about mad cows. As Fatty is about to kick him out again, some kids complain about the clown, preventing Fatty from doing anything. Next Bugs takes drive-through orders and gives directions to the drivers that make a mess of the drive through area. He tops it all off by carrying a skunk out from the kitchen, sending more customers fleeing.
Finally Fatty begs Bugs to stop. It turns out that he's the owner, Wotta Crock, as well as the clown. The place can't be moved, but he and Bugs to come to an arrangement. Bugs stops wreaking havoc with his business, and Wotta sees that Bugs is well attended to...

As he explains this, Sylvester calls him over to remind him of the relationship between cats and mice. Junior tries, but just can't bring himself to eat the mice and so has a talk with Sylvester.
When he hears that the mice want to be eaten, Sylvester tells his son not to eat them, as something must be wrong with them. He even will let Junior make friends with them. Overhearing this, Hector tries to set Sylvester straight but things only get more strange as Hector sees things for himself. Hector soon gives up and runs after the dog catcher, Sylvester close behind. Left alone, Hubie, Bertie, and Sylvester Junior do get along as the cat provides the mice with their fondest desire.
