Comments
Earl Kress is a pleasant surprise to find as a Looney Tunes comic writer. His experience includes television work for Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Road Rovers and more. That did not go unnoticed, either. He was nominated for a daytime Emmy award in 1997 and 1998 for his work on Pinky and the Brain, and he won an Annie award for "Outstanding Individual Achievement in Writing for an Animated Television Production" (again for Pinky and the Brain, specifically the episode "The Family That Poits Together, Narfs Together") in 1998. The Annie is awarded by the ASIFA, which is basically the International Animated Film Society. ASIFA is a French acronym, thus it doesn't translate literally. In 1999 he had two more Emmy nominations for Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain. He also won the Emmy for Pinky and the Brain. Also, he was a nominated for and won a 1999 Prism Award for the "Inherit the Wheeze" episode of Pinky and the Brain. The Prism is an entertainment industry award for "realistic depictions of drug, alcohol, and tobacco use and addiction."
His talents are not limited to writing, though that alone would be impressive. He also has produced the album "Pic-A-Nic Basket Of Cartoon Classics" featuring classic sound tracks from Hanna-Barbera cartoons.
